At last week’s Di Gribble Argument 2015, Andrew Denton presented his case for an assisted dying law that would spare many Australians from unnecessary suffering. You can now read his speech in full – outlining his months of research and careful reasoning.
Hi Andrew, I watched you on moral compass tonight. Had 2 relatives in Nursing Homes who committed suicide because they did not want to live . My mother had food with held after a stroke, and she passed away in 6 days (Doc’s decision) Another relative had cancer, and the Doc withheld drugs and she died but he did not speak to the family before hand either. I think there is quite a lot of stuff going on in Hospitals and Nursing Homes that the public does not know about. Some of it not good.
